DESCRIPTION
When we think of winter traditions in Japan, we think of snow, Christmas, cold swimming... and kotatsu. Its history goes back to the Muromachi period, when it was first built with a turret over a hearth and covered with a futon. Later, in Japan, along with the brazier, it developed as an indispensable heating device in winter. So to speak, they served as heating and bedding during the cold season, and of course men and women's activities would have taken place there on a daily basis.
日本の冬の風物詩といえば、雪、クリスマス、寒中水泳…そしてコタツ。その歴史は古く、室町時代に囲炉裏の上に櫓を組み、蒲団をかけた物が最初。その後、日本では火鉢とともに冬には欠かせない暖房器具として発達。いわば寒い季節の暖房および寝具の役割を果たしてきたわけであり、当然そこでは男女の営みも日常茶飯事に行われたであろう…。
일본의 겨울의 풍물시라고 하면, 눈, 크리스마스, 한중 수영… 그리고 코타츠. 그 역사는 낡아 무로마치 시대에 난로 뒤에 망치를 짜고 가마단을 걸은 것이 처음이다. 그 후, 일본에서는 화분과 함께 겨울에는 빠뜨릴 수 없는 난방 기구로서 발달. 이른바 추운 계절의 난방 및 침구의 역할을 완수해 온 것이며, 당연히 거기에서는 남녀의 영업도 일상차반사에 행해졌을 것이다…
