DESCRIPTION
Somewhere in Tokyo. A quiet residential area. The kitchen of a peaceful house stands there. A wife wearing an apron was making breakfast for her husband, Daisuke, humming to herself. Soon after, her husband comes in, looking sleepy. Daisuke, half-asleep, sits on a chair in the kitchen and eats his wife's homemade breakfast, but then his wife says something new to him. It was that my mother-in-law was coming tomorrow. The next day, Onobori's mother-in-law, who has traveled all the way by train, walks unsteadily down the main street amidst the bustle and bustle of Tokyo.
東京都内某所。閑静なる住宅街。そこに立つ、平穏なる一軒家の台所。エプロン姿の女房が、ひとり、鼻歌まじりに、旦那・ダイスケの朝飯を作っている。程なくして、旦那が眠そうに入って来る。寝ぼけながらも台所のイスに座るダイスケは、妻の手作りの朝食を食うのだが、妻が改まって言い出した事があった。それは、明日、お義母さんがやってくるとの事だった。翌日、遠路はるばる汽車に揺られて、東京のにぎやかな喧噪の中、きょろきょろとしながら、大通りを歩くオノボリお義母さん。
도쿄도내 모소. 한적한 주택가. 거기 서 있는 평온한 한 집의 부엌. 앞치마 차림의 여방이, 혼자, 콧노래 마술로, 남편·다이스케의 아침밥을 만들고 있다. 얼마 지나지 않아 남편이 잠자리에 들어온다. 잠자리면서도 부엌의 의자에 앉아있는 다이스케는, 아내의 수제 아침 식사를 먹는데, 아내가 개조해 말한 적이 있었다. 그것은 내일 시어머니가 온다는 것이었다. 다음 날, 먼 길은 루바루 기차에 흔들리고, 도쿄의 활기찬 喧噪 속, 넉넉하게 하면서, 대로를 걷는 오노보리 시어머니.
