Kozue lives a life where she cannot afford to buy clothes in order to pay off debts on behalf of her husband who disappeared. 蒸発した夫に代わって借金を返すため、衣服も満足に買えない生活を送るこずえ。息子の大輔も学校をやめ、アルバイトをして家計を助けている。二人は毎日のように家に現れてはドアの前で怒鳴る借金取りに怯えながら、貧しく暮らしていた。その日もドアを叩き怒号をあげる借金取りに怯え大輔と抱き合って声を押し殺していたこずえ。ところが、この日の大輔はいつもと様子が少し違って…。
