1955 Togawa, Suganuma Village, Minamikawamura District, Sen● Prefecture (currently near Midori●oka New Town, Musashidai, Tomi● Ward, Sen● City). Kiyoji Yamanaka (46 years old at the time of the crime), who works at a fruit and vegetable wholesaler in eastern Tokyo, left Tokyo in the early hours of the morning and arrived in Suganuma Village at 8:02 a.m. Yamanaka went around the village as a peddler but could not get enough results, so at 11:15 a.m., he broke into a house on the outskirts of the village where the victim, Yoshie Takahashi (36 years old at the time of the crime) lived, with the intention of assaulting a woman.
