DESCRIPTION
Shizuka (32), a former Yankee widow who now runs a boarding house, is approached by Goro Makimura, a close friend of her late husband Shinnosuke. When Goro hears his story, he says that he failed in business, went into debt, and now has no place to live. Goro bows his head and asks if he can let her stay as a lodging for a while, and Shizuka happily agrees. She immediately introduces Goro to the lodgers, but the lodgers don't like that Shizuka and Goro have known each other for a long time and are on good terms.
