人事部からの内線で無断欠勤していた新入社員の左慈が退職代行を使って会社を辞めたことが知らされた。今時の若い奴は自分で退職することも言えないのか、と腹立たしく思っていた俺の元に『退職届在中』と書かれた書類が届いた。苛立ちながら封書を開けると中には『退職届』のほかにもう一枚紙が入っており『あんたの奥さん最高だったよ』と殴り書きされた文字が目に飛び込んだ。まだ出先から戻らない同僚である妻の存在を思い浮かべた俺は衝動で会社を飛び出したのだが…。
