DESCRIPTION
An expedition heading to a remote island to capture UMA goes missing. The videotape left behind shows what appears to be an unidentified creature. In order to find out the truth, the TV crew plans to interview Kiritani Island, a mysterious island located at the southernmost tip of Japan, and is accompanied by expert Elijah Mai. Mai refuses when she hears of his ulterior motive of using the beautiful Mai as a reporter to gain viewership ratings, but when he is offered help with research funds, he reluctantly accepts. Frustrated by the unidentified creature that has landed on an isolated island but never appears, the group tries to lure the unidentified creature out using Mai as a decoy.
UMAを捕獲するために孤島に向かった探検隊が消息不明になる。残されたビデオテープに未確認生物らしき姿が映っている。真相を探るためにTVクルーは日本の最南端にあるという幻の孤島、霧谷島の取材を計画し専門家のイリヤ・マイが同行する事に。美貌のマイをレポーターにして視聴率を稼ぐという不純な動機を聞かされたマイは拒絶するが、研究費の援助を申し出られ、しぶしぶ引き受ける事に。孤島に上陸したものの一向に現れない未確認生物に業を煮やした一行はマイを囮にして未確認生物をおびき出そうとする。
UMA를 포획하기 위해 고도로 향한 탐험대가 소식 불명이 된다. 남은 비디오 테이프에 미확인 생물다운 모습이 비치고 있다. 진상을 탐구하기 위해 TV 승무원은 일본의 최남단에 있다는 환상의 고도, 기리타니 섬의 취재를 계획해 전문가의 일리아 마이가 동행하는 일에. 미모의 마이를 리포터로 하여 시청률을 벌기로 하는 불순한 동기를 들었던 마이는 거절하지만, 연구비의 원조를 제기되어, 어쩌면 맡는 일에. 고도에 상륙했지만 일방에 나타나지 않는 미확인 생물에 업을 익힌 일행은 마이를 미끼로 하여 미확인 생물을 뛰어오르려 한다.
